2011 9th Place Copper Dog 150 Team

There were a ton of great teams in this race! Larry had a good first leg, challenging 2nd leg with all of the climbing. The 3rd leg our team was on fire!! He had to bag Zoey for the last 20 miles of the 3rd leg, but still had a super run!! Made up some time on some teams, left Copper Harbor in 12th, finished the race in 9th place!!

Lead with George on the first leg. So glad we had him for some of the turns! Got a little tired near the end of the 1st leg, did super again once he was in swing. Dropped him in Eagle Harbor due to an elevated heart rate.

What a surprise Smarty was! Has zero race experience. We had a couple of key dogs have minor injuries before the race, so he got his chance to prove himself to us. He only got stronger the longer we went! The 3rd leg he was on fire!! He was the cheerleader in the team, barking to go at every stop the entire race! What a great young dog!
