2011 7th Place Midnight Run Team

Our 2nd team was scratched before the race due to extremely dangerous trail conditions & Larry ran the main team. It was the most dangerous trail he's ever run! The trail marking was terrible, he took 7 to 8 wrong turns, broke his drag pad before all the hills so only had his metal brake! There is a lake crossing where it was complete glare ice with no trail. There was a lot of time wasted there to get our leaders to stop trying to cross it in the wrong direction!! This was a physically & mentally challenging trail for dogs & musher. I was so happy to see Larry & the team in one piece after all that!! Larry said it was like a 3 hour car accident!

Ran main lead entire race. The first leg was a very challenging leg for leaders. Larry took 7-8 wrong turns due to no or poor trail marking. So, had to turn the dogs around several times. Going across glare ice was a challenge in itself! By the 2nd leg George & Frank were flawless on commands after all that crap on the first leg!!

For a green leader, Frank did super in this race! Larry had to turn the team around several times on the first leg & he & George kept a good attitude for the entire first leg, some how!! By the 2nd leg, George & Frank were flawless on commands. We were extremely impressed with frank & are excited that we finally realized his excellent leading abilities!!
