2009 6th Place Midnight Run Team

We had a great race! We had a few mishaps on the first leg and started the 2nd leg in 10th place. We ended up passing 4 teams to a 6th place finish with all 8 dogs!!! I was so proud of the team. We worked our butts off and really earned that one!

Georgie was awesome! On the first leg, we ran over the slushy lake and some of the booties froze. When taking off his bootie at the checkpoint, it was frozen onto his pad, which then ripped part of his pad off. I was worried about him on the 2nd leg. I just bootied his foot and hoped for the best. He ran like a mad man right out of the chute, like he never tore that part of his pad off! What a dog, he is rookie of the year!!
