The record so far: ADMA Prelim. #2: Mid distance, 19.1 miles, 1st out of 3 teams. I wanted a low-pressure race to start the racing career of my yearlings, and this easy cruise around the 19 mile trail was just right. ADMA Prelim. #4: Open, 15.6 miles, 9th out of 10 teams. ADMA Prelim. #5: Open, 19.1 miles, 2nd out of 3 teams. I ran a lot of yearlings in this race, hit a skiier and got tangled up, loaded a dog, and came in 6 1/2 minutes behind Curtis Erhart on the day he set the track record. Overall I was very pleased with their performance. Limited North American 8-dog: 11 out of 15. I ran this as a training run, with some of the less experienced dogs I wanted to put in the ONAC. Most of the dogs in this team we're tiny, and all had been running 30 miles three weeks earlier. Open North American: 19th out of a field of 27. All of the young dogs finished 3 days. Can't wait till next year. Tok Race of Champions: Finished 15th out of 21. The first out of town race for most of these dogs. All 14 ran both days. Two River's Valley Funale: 2nd place behind Andi Hutten, out of 16 teams. This 25 mile? (no one seems to know) fun run ends up being the toughest run of the year, with winding, rough trails, end of the season heat, and big hills. Split and Dazzle passed 11 teams for more passing practice than they've ever had at one time.
