I raised Axil from a pup, As a pup he listened, came when called and was always trying to catch up to his sister, and never gave up, at about 9 months he got legs. One day while the hounds were playing on the ice, Axil suddenly took off I did a doubletake, none of the dogs were catching him. He is my favorite wheel dog he does not like to lead, when the other dogs get confused they look at him and he turns the team fom the wheel position, strong, fast, and all round good dog and is getting better every day my idea of the perfect sleddog,. I would like 3 dogs just like him for Laconia!, NEW for 2012/13. During a training run Axil was trying to pass my leaders so I had been working with him in single lead and put him out front WOW! Axil has been my main leader! He is driving the team we are sooooo much faster with him out front. I now have the kind of leader I always wanted.
